CESU Network National Awards - Call for Nominations

2023 CESU Network National Meeting

2023 CESU Network National Meeting Venue

This year's meeting will be held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Remote participation will also be available.

Directions

NCTC is approximately 90 (+/-) minutes from Washington, DC by car. The NCTC physical address is 698 Conservation Way, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.

Air Service

The closest airport to NCTC is Dulles International Airport (IAD). Additional air service is available via Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) and Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA).

Ground Transportation

Shuttle service is available from Dulles International Airport. The fee is $100 per person for round trip and is payable at the NCTC Front Desk upon checkout; there is no discount for a one-way trip. If you want to use the shuttle you MUST make a reservation through the Hotel Reservations office at (304) 876-7900 (Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM).

If you would like to ride share to/from NCTC from area airports or the DC Metro area, please indicate this on your registration form.

Lodging

A limited number of on-site overnight lodging rooms (50) for meeting attendees are on hold, which will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, based on registration date. Do not call NCTC to reserve a room; you must register for the meeting to be added to the lodging list. The NCTC overnight lodging rate for non-FWS guests is $172, including the NCTC meal plan (beginning with dinner on the day of check-in and ending with lunch on the day of check-out) and required daily $20 "facility sustainability fee."

Additional information about NCTC facilities and detailed directions are available at the following link: NCTC - What We Do

Security Check

Upon arrival at NCTC, attendees will be asked to show government-issued photo identification. Attendee names must appear on the daily registration and security gate list to be granted access to NCTC facilities. Upon arrival the first day, all attendees should check in at the front desk, where they will be given a name badge and directions to the meeting rooms, as well as lodging packet if staying at NCTC.

Food

NCTC has an on-site cafeteria in the Commons Building. Meals are included in the lodging fee (including dinner the night of check-in and breakfast and lunch the day of check-out). Daily commuters may purchase lunch in the cafeteria (either through an ‘all you can eat’ meal card or à la carte). A wide variety of menu items are offered, including vegetarian and vegan diets; details for menu items are available from the server during mealtimes.
